Exsel Design & Integration is delighted to work with the Armoured Trials and Development Unit (ATDU) to integrate a light weight fixed observation mast onto a Jackal as part of their Light Cav Sprint. This is another example of our ability to work closely with both defence and commercial clients to rapidly prototype products for cost-effective solutions.
The ATDU, which is part of the British Army, comprises specialists from within the Royal Armoured Corps (RAC) and Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME). As a unit, it carries out user trials and develops systems to improve armoured platforms and to make sure that the best equipment is available.
The mast is capable of supporting up to 20kg of interchangeable masthead payloads can be lifted up to 6m quickly and quietly using pneumatic powered mast controls.
